|Long-time Alaskan, Joseph William Fagg, 74, died of natural causes June 16, 2012 at The Homestead Assisted Living Home in Palmer, Alaska.
Funeral Services in honor of Joe were held Monday, June 25, 2012 at Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla, Alaska. Full military honors were presented. Pastor Tori Hicks officiated.
Mr. Fagg was born August 22, 1937 to Floyd and Ethel Virginia Fagg in Springfield, Illinois. In March of 1961, Joseph enlisted into the United States Air Force and became a 20 year retiree in 1981. Joseph became a resident of Alaska beginning in the year of 1971. He lived in Anchorage from 1977 to 2001 and then made Wasilla his home from 2001 unto his death. From the year of 2002 to 2008, Joseph was considered the State of Alaska’s official “Santa Clause.” One of Joseph’s special interests was football.
Joseph Fagg is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Fagg.
He is survived by sons, Troy Flagg of Salt Lake City, UT; Trent Flagg and grandson Hunter of Wasilla, AK; daughter, Tracy Spencer, her husband Sgt. Ronald Spencer, grandsons Derek Tennant and Tyler Web of Anchorage, AK; and granddaughter, Tara Dutcher, her husband Senior Airman, Douglas Dutcher and great grandsons, Kayne and Trayton Dutcher of Mt. Home AFB, ID.
